Rev Charles Akasreku of Great Commission Church laid to rest

The Great Commission Church International (GCCI) on Saturday bid farewell to the Reverend Charles Akasreku, Western Regional Pastor, at Ve-Koloenu in the Afadjato South District of the Volta Region, his hometown.

Rev Akasreku, 66, who died on October 17, was survived by his wife, Charity, and their five children.

Apostle Dr Samuel Vincent Ansah, Chairman, GCCI Ghana National Council, eulogised the late pastor for his commitment and dedication towards the work of God.

He urged Christians to remain committed in their service to God, which had greater rewards.

“Death is inevitable and, therefore, Christians must remember their creator in the days of their youth,” he said.

Rev Akasreku’s leadership was marked by strategic planning and ability to inspire others.

He played a pivotal role in church planting, management, and the development of church policies.

As the Director of Ministries of GCCI Ghana National Council from 2013 to 2023, he oversaw the operations of all church ministries and led numerous initiatives that significantly impacted church growth and community engagement.

Rev Akasreku’s dedication to his calling was evident in every region he served. From upgrading worship facilities in the Western Region to overseeing church activities in the Brong-Ahafo and Ashanti regions, his contributions were immense.

In the Volta Region, he led the Kpando Central branch to significant milestones, including the commissioning of a new chapel.

High profile dignitaries attended the burial ceremony to pay their last respect.
