In a remarkable step toward integrating evangelism with charitable outreach, The Ascension Ministers’ Wives Fellowship (AMWF) of The Apostolic Church-Ghana officially launched the Ladies in Missions initiative during their 9th Fire Conference held on January 18, 2025, at the Kaneshie Central Temple.
The initiative is designed to empower ministers’ wives to extend God’s Kingdom through evangelism and community service, especially in rural areas.
Lady Josephine D. Ami-Narh, First Lady of the Church and AMWF team lead, recounted the journey that began in 2022 in Abutia Kloe, a community in the Volta Region. She emphasized how the vision grew from a simple outreach effort into a movement making a profound impact.
“What began as AMWF in Abutia Kloe has now birthed a movement spreading across various places. Our heart’s cry is for people to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus,” she shared passionately.
The pioneering efforts in Abutia Kloe led to the establishment of a church, bringing both spiritual awakening and social transformation to the community. This success story has become the foundation for expanding Ladies in Missions to new regions, with Afram Plains in the Eastern Region as the next mission field.
The initiative seeks to identify outreach gaps and demonstrate Christ’s compassion through community development projects, medical missions, food and clothing distribution, evangelism, and possibly constructing worship centers.
Apostle Seth Gakpetor, Kaneshie Area Apostle, officially launched the initiative and commended AMWF for their dedication. “Ladies in Missions aligns perfectly with the church’s mission to spread the gospel globally and fulfill the mandate of making disciples of all nations,” he affirmed.
As Ladies in Missions gains momentum, it is expected to ignite spiritual revival and holistic development in rural communities, advancing the Great Commission and reinforcing the church’s vision to belt the globe with the message of Christ’s love.
