Renowned International Evangelist and President of Worldwide Outreach Ministry, Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, has challenged Members of Parliament (MPs) and politicians to live lives worthy of their title as “Honourables.”
Speaking at the climax of the Prayerfest2025 event hosted by the Maranatha Assembly of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI) in Tema, Dr. Tetteh expressed deep concern over recent disruptions in Parliament, including the vandalism of equipment during the vetting of Ministerial Nominees on January 30.
“It is very sad to see Parliament going through such challenges. While we respect our leaders, they must also create an atmosphere that earns them honor. As leaders, they are called to set good examples for the nation,” Dr. Tetteh emphasized.
He urged MPs to rise above emotional reactions, noting that “emotions have no intellect” and can lead to actions that tarnish the reputation of the legislative body.
The evangelist called on Ghanaians to intercede for Parliament, recalling similar incidents in 2021 and stressing that such behavior sends a negative signal about Ghana’s governance.
“We must pray for our Parliament because this is not the first time this has happened. It doesn’t reflect well on our Legislature, and we need God’s intervention,” he said. Dr. Tetteh reminded MPs that they represent the people of Ghana and not themselves, urging them to act with integrity and wisdom.
The Prayerfest2025, themed “The God of Heaven, He Will Prosper Us,” was a week-long prayer and fasting program aimed at seeking God’s blessings and favor for the new year. Dr. Tetteh’s message resonated deeply with the congregation, as he highlighted the importance of spiritual guidance in national leadership.
Rev. Iddi Yire, Resident Pastor of the Maranatha Assembly, expressed gratitude to Dr. Tetteh for his impactful ministry and spiritual impartation during the event.
The service ended with prayers for the nation’s leaders, particularly MPs, as the church sought divine intervention for peace, wisdom, and prosperity in Ghana. Dr. Tetteh’s call for integrity and prayerful support for Parliament serves as a timely reminder of the need for godly leadership in the nation.
