The Presbyterian Church of Ghana Congratulates President-elect John Dramani Mahama on Electoral Victory

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) extends its heartfelt congratulations to H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President-elect, on his resounding victory in the 2024 general elections. This historic milestone marks a new chapter for Ghana as Mr. Mahama assumes office as the 6th President of the 4th Republic.

In a statement issued by the Clerk of the General Assembly, the Reverend Dr. Godwin Nii Noi Odonkor, the Church expressed its confidence in the leadership capabilities of President-elect Mahama and prayed for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance throughout his tenure. He highlighted the critical need for unity and collaborative efforts to address the nation’s challenges, emphasizing the Church’s commitment to support initiatives aimed at national development.

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana congratulates H.E. John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on this electoral success. We acknowledge the democratic will of the people and encourage the President-elect to lead with humility, vision, and inclusivity.

Reverend Dr. G. N. N. Odonkor also commended the Ghanaian electorate for demonstrating maturity and peace during the election process. He urged all political stakeholders to work together in fostering reconciliation and unity for the collective good of the country.

The Church’s leadership further affirmed its prayers for the President-elect’s administration to succeed in fostering economic growth, improving social services, and promoting justice and equity. “We pray that the Lord God Almighty may grant you the wisdom, strength and courage to lead with integrity and compassion to ensure the wellbeing of all Ghanaians,” Reverend Dr. Odonkor stated.
