Clergy Encourages Dr. Bawumia: ‘You Did Your Best, and the Journey Is Not Over

A delegation of Christian clergy has rallied behind Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, urging him to stay hopeful despite his loss in the 2024 Presidential elections. The group, representing various Christian denominations, visited Dr. Bawumia at his residence on Wednesday, December 24, 2024, to offer encouragement and prayers.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Apostle George Apasera commended Dr. Bawumia’s efforts during the election campaign, emphasizing that the outcome reflected the “sovereign will of God” and not a failure on his part. “You embarked on this journey with a very good note. You had all the support, especially from those of us in the Christian community, and you conducted yourself in a manner that earned our admiration,” Apostle Apasera stated.

He continued, “It is unfortunate that the ultimate outcome was not in your favor, but you did your best. This is not the end of the road. You are still a young man with much more to achieve. God’s plans for you are far from over.”

The clergy praised Dr. Bawumia for his demonstration of political maturity and his early concession of defeat, which they said played a crucial role in maintaining national peace and stability. “Your timely concession calmed tensions across the country. It showed great leadership and maturity, which we deeply admire,” the pastors acknowledged.

They also commended Dr. Bawumia for his resilience and positive demeanor in the days following the election. “We have seen you on various occasions, still smiling, energetic, and standing strong with your supportive wife, who also continues to radiate positivity. You have truly exhibited grace under pressure, and we pray that God will continue to guide and bless you,” the clergy noted.

The pastors concluded their visit with assurances of continued prayers for Dr. Bawumia and his family, expressing confidence in his future contributions to the nation. “We will keep you in our prayers, believing that greater things are yet to come in your journey,” Apostle Apasera affirmed.
