Catholic Voices GH, a chorale group of the Catholic Church in Obuasi has launched the ‘Mo Ne Adwuma’ awards to honour seven individuals in the Adansi enclave.
The awards aimed at celebrating the remarkable contributions of several local people who have made significant impacts in their various fields of endeavour.
Among those honoured at the maiden event were His Lordship, John Yaw Afoakwah, Catholic Bishop of Obuasi, Nana Kwantenpenaa Kwamoah Bosompem, Reagent of Adansi Odumasi, Rev. Dr. Love Konadu, Executive Director of Love Foundation, Mr. Richard K. Ellimah, Journalist and Expert in Mines and Sustainable Development, Mr. David Hagan, Director of Galaxy Foundation and a past Winner of MTN Heroes for Change, Mrs. Louisa Amoah, Executive Director of Girl Shall Grow Foundation, and Mr. Charles Wudengba, Executive Director, Wundef Media.
Mr Joseph Owusu-Addo, Executive Director of Catholic Voices GH, speaking at the ceremony, praised the awardees for their selfless leadership in their various fields, which had had positive impacts in the lives of many people in their communities.
He said it was important to celebrate them while they were still alive and stressed the need for other groups to honour people who helped to uplift others in society.
Mr Owusu-Addo pointed out that the ‘Mo Ne Adwuma’ programme would become an annual event to recognize individuals across Ghana who were making difference in the lives of others.
The awardees expressed their heartfelt joy and appreciation for the recognition of their hard work and dedication.
The event featured a series of choral performances from the talented members of Catholic Voices GH and Dom Peace Chorale, which added a melodious touch to the proceedings.
The ceremony was attended by members of the clergy, local businessmen, families and friends of the awardees, media representatives, and the public.
